We try to reduce our footprint and, when a project allows, leave systems more efficient and easier to control. ESG criteria inform our choices of clients, projects, suppliers and tools: a working commitment, not a certification or a zero-impact claim.
ESG criteria are a practical filter when we assess clients, projects, suppliers and tools. We favour work that avoids exploitation and preventable harm, and may decline engagements that conflict with these principles.
Where possible, we choose energy-efficient, low-consumption technology. Lightweight pages, purposeful automation and lean systems help limit waste and overlapping tools.
When they fit, we prefer transparent free-software licences such as GPL and MIT. We clarify usage, modification and handover rights so clients retain control of the solution.
For photos, video and other assets, we favour original work or compatible licences such as Creative Commons and copyleft. We check usage terms and attribution before reuse.
Zero is technology-agnostic: the tools listed are examples, not requirements. We aim for strong performance and low energy use, while considering accessibility, privacy and freedom to manage the result. At a client's request, we also consider conventional platforms such as classic WordPress; custom development and headless architecture are not requirements.
